“I am free and that is why I am lost.” — Franz Kafka

Ever feel like you’re on the verge of 44 years old and you’re waking up for the fourth time in a lifetime?

My first wake-up call occurred during a solo trip to Vegas for my 21st b-day. The second awakening happened at 30 years old while looking in the mirror repeating a Spiritual download. The third birth sent me 2K miles from California into the outback of The ‘Sas (Arkansas). The fourth eyes-wide-open episode aired last week while stargazing by day (staring at the sun) after moving back into the same California house I dwelled four years prior.

For months, my life record’s been skipping.

Because I permitted my mind to loop on replay from distant present to nonexistent future. Write. Erase. Repeat. Live. Hide. Repeat.

“I have spatial issues.” — I told my wifey these words this week.

I grew up the third of four children telling our parents they should’ve only had two kids. (Come on, I kid.) Most dinner nights were “Make it yourself night,” but I didn’t mind. The hardest parts were making space in a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, car, blah.

I tasted the best of my dream come true in the forest and chose to throw a pity party after leading our return to California because I knew it gave the best to our family during this decade of decoding.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” — Viktor Frankl

With 2022 well underway, now’s the best time to answer the call to wake the chuck up, build Self v2.0, and thrive in a new headspace. LFG.
